The Role

The Senior Director of Business Development and Client Solutions reports to the CCO and is responsible for directing global business development activities to create sustainable business growth through lead identification, delivery of proposals and winning of new contracts within Europe. The role also entails the successful management of relationships between senior levels within sponsor and CRO organisations as well as internally and will be based in Sweden / Denmark.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identification of potential clients with a view to establishing new avenues for business.
  • Building customer relationships through trust and confidence to achieve customer loyalty
  • Following through from lead identification, RFP, award and delivery of services
  • Meeting of targets to customer satisfaction; generation of repeat business as a result.
  • Management of RFPs to drive attendance at proposal meetings.
  • Proactive development of financial forecasts and risk assessment plans.
  • Team collaboration to ensure seamless execution of projects.
  • Quarterly presentations to senior management on key business updates.
  • Assistance in business expansion activities (investments, corporate alliances, etc.).

 

Skills

  • Understanding of the clinical development life cycle.
  • Knowledge of selling methodologies (e.g. Miller-Heiman, SPIN selling, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills whilst managing multiple projects.
  • Persistence to achieve results

 

Experience

  • 5-10 years selling clinical services or pharma/biotech.
  • Experience selling clinical trials technology solutions.
  • Experience developing and managing business plans.
  • Experience selling software/service solutions to pharmaceutical and biotech sponsors/CROs.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent.
